About the Author

Latifa Ayad is a Libyan-American writer based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she is currently pursuing her PhD. She is a MacDowell Fellow and her novel-in-progress Night of Power was a runner-up for the James Jones First Novel Fellowship. Ayad writes about monsters, and men who are monsters. She writes about ghosts, and women who are ghosts. Her piece “Arabic Lesson” is featured in Best American Non-Required Reading 2019.
